White Lady
Created by Harry MacElhone in 1919 at Ciro's Club, London. In 1923 he took over a bar in Rue Daunou, Paris, renaming it Harry's New York Bar. In 1929 he altered the White Lady recipe, using gin in place of white Creme de Menthe, and this became a world-wide favourite. He created many well-known recipes, and the bar flourishes to this day.
