Created in 1898 at Locke Ober's Winter Place Wine Rooms, Boston, USA, to celebrate an electoral victory clinched in the city's eighth ward.

Ingredients

• 2 measures of bourbon
• 1 measure of lemon juice
• 1 measure of sugar syrup
• 1 teaspoon of Grenadine

Instructions

Shake and strain into glass filled with broken ice.

Garnish: slices of citrus fruit and a cherry, serve with short straws.
