Singapore Sling
This world-famous cocktail was created in 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese-Chinese bartender working at Raffles Hotel, Singapore.
Ingredients
- 1 measure of gin
- 1 measure of cherry brandy
- 1/2 measure of Cointreau
- 1 measure of lime juice
- 1 measure of pineapple juice
- 1 measure of orange juice
- 1/4 measure of Grenadine
- 1 teaspoon of Benedictine
- 1 dash of Angostura
Instructions
Shake and strain into glass filled with broken ice, sprinkle the Benedictine on top.
Garnish: slice of pineapple and a cherry, add straws. Note: use a highly coloured cherry brandy, as the end result should be slightly pink. Raffles Hotel Bar does not use soda water in this recipe.
