Planter's Punch (Original)

In 1879, Fred L. Myers founded the Myers's Rum distillery in Jamaica and celebrated by creating what he named a Planter's Punch. This concoction became the house speciality at Kelly's Bar, Sugar Wharf, Jamaica, and its popularity soon began to spread.

Ingredients

• 1 2/3 measures of Myers's dark rum
• 4 measures of orange juice
• juice of 1/2 a lime
• 1 teaspoon of Grenadine
• 1 teaspoon of caster sugar

Instructions

Shake and strain into glass filled with crushed ice.

Garnish: cherry and slice of orange.

Alcohol Content: 1.7 units
